Live demonstrations of the Harken Industrial PowerSeat® ascender at the Emergency Services Show at Stand C19

Lymington, UK — Harken Industrial’s technical team will use the PowerSeat to demonstrate rescue techniques at this year’s Emergency Services Show. The live demonstrations highlight the quick and easy operational features of the PowerSeat, reinforcing it as ground-breaking in the way operators work at height.

What is the PowerSeat?

The PowerSeat is a comfortable powered seat designed for use by rope-access operators as a powered ascender and manual friction brake descender. Used where the operator is working in a fall-arrest harness, the PowerSeat eliminates wasted energy whilst maintaining an upright position, enabling the operator to work at height for longer periods.

Enhancing safety & efficiency

The PowerSeat is CE certified to the Machinery Directive (and independently verified by Bureau Veritas). This unique man-riding winch has revolutionised the efficiency and safety of working at height, providing operators with the ability to ascend quickly, stay in position longer and work in comfort, whilst significantly reducing fatigue.

Benefits of the PowerSeat to fire and rescue services

  • Flexible mobility: Weighing just 14 kg, the PowerSeat can be carried to the most remote locations to aid rescue operations.
  • Two person rescues: The system can be used to rescue two people at a time.
  • Faster response times: The PowerSeat can be set up onsite extremely quickly, significantly reducing the time needed to access and retrieve casualties in remote environments.
  • Unobstructed access: A full 360-degree working area allows unobstructed access, even in confined spaces.

The PowerSeat has proven success across many industries including, construction, facilities management, renewable energy, oil & gas sectors, telecommunications, marine and many more.
