Problem

Devise a system so a single person on the ground can lift, lower, and lock off large tree limbs accurately and safely.

Solution

We chose a smooth-operating winch to accomplish this task. The two-speed gearing provides a powerful mechanical advantage of 46.3:1 (lifting), so a single person can control heavy limbs safely and with precision. The winch has a dead-lift rating of 3,000 lb (1360.5 kg).

The winch is constructed of a durable chromed bronze material which protects the drum from dirt and grit. The GRCS system is portable and can be quickly installed/uninstalled at the job site. The jaws of the self tailer automatically adjust to fit rope of diameters up to 14 mm.

A low-friction winch handle features a ball bearing grip that efficiently transmits power into the winch.
