Problem
Create a lunar walking simulator that is adaptable for a variety of users, weighing between 15 kgs to 110 kgs.
Solution
We chose our ESP range of pulleys for this customer. This project required pulleys that work with an electric motor providing a smooth, reliable and strong system allowing a soft automated adjustment to variable weights. The system designed, uses a customised space pack, housing a small electric motor and the controls for adjusting the elasticised rope.
We fitted ESP Footblocks inside, to equalise balance on both sides of the pack, whilst remaining discreet and quiet.
Single ESP blocks, hung above, connect the ropes that regulate the tension of the pack and lead the rope (which adjusts the height of the pack to the variable weight of the person wearing the pack) into the motorized controls stored inside.
