SBL (strong but light) Snatch pulleys maximize the benefits of fiber rope within a safer, more ergonomic working environment. Weighing less than 25% of comparable pulleys, they make light work of rigging and deployment. The  hardcoat-anodized sheaves run on high-efficiency composite bearings, reducing rope wear.

Simple to use and ideal for diverse applications
SBL Snatch pulleys can be used for towing, mooring, pulling, and lifting across many industries.

  • Utilities
  • Commercial rigging
  • Offshore
  • Renewables
  • Commercial marine
  • Transport
  • Salvage
  • Military

Maintainence is easy
The simple construction requires no lubrication. Simply flush with fresh water to keep your SBL Snatch pulley free rolling.

SBL design

Side-opening plates allow the pulleys to be rigged easily. The soft attachment system eliminates heavy swivels and shackles.

SBL materials

Sideplates are hardcoat-anodized, UV-stabilized 6061-T6 aluminum for maximum protection. Sheaves run smoothly and maintain efficiency at high loads using PTFE-coated ULC bearing technology.

Fiber Rope
Snatch pulleys are used with fiber rope up to 25 mm (1″) in diameter. Smooth surfaces and chafe-free design minimize wear.

IN10636 = 4 kg (9lb) IN0639 = 9.3 kg (20.5 lb) IN11038 = 22.5 kg (50 lb)

Sheave diameter

IN10636 = 165 mm (6.5 In) IN0639 = 221 mm (9 In) IN11038 = 279 mm (11 In)

Max Rated Load

IN10636 = 106 kN (24000 Ib) IN0639 = 133 kN (30000 lb) IN11038 = 222 kN (50000 lb)

Q: What is the safety factor of the SBLs?
A: We use a 4:1 safety factor to comply with EN13157:2004.
Q: Are SBL Snatch pulleys marked with working information?
A: Yes. Each SBL Snatch pulley is marked with a tamper-proof sticker specifying pulley type, maximum fiber rope diameter, max rated load, serial number, and the manufacturer’s mark clearly visible. Every pulley is sent with a manual detailing safe usage and warning information.

Q: Are SBL Snatch pulleys offered in different sizes?
A: Yes. There are three (3) sizes in the SBL range. We can also design and manufacture to suit your requirements.
Q: Are these pulleys corrosion resistant? Can they be used in marine environments?
A: Yes. These pulleys are designed to resist the corrosive effects of a marine environment.

Maximum rated loads are 4:1 coefficient ratio of the breaking load. Human suspension applications require a 10:1 ratio

Warnings and Instructions
You must carefully read, understand, and follow all of the warnings in the manual in order to avoid an accident. Never, under any circumstances, exceed the maximum rated load.
