Access Rail System for Superyacht Maintenance

Business Segment: Commercial marine

Location: Yachts worldwide

Project Description: With the increasing size of modern superyachts, washing and maintaining vessel exteriors has become increasingly time-consuming, difficult and dangerous. Owners and operators needed to have a safer way for their crews to do exterior work.

Solution/Equipment Used: Harken Industrial™ adapted and certified existing rail and trolley products, creating the Access Rail System.

Summary: The rail/trolley system allows the user freedom of linear movement while safely tethered to the system and allows personnel the ability to lock into position (with equipment) while working outboard along the hull. Low-profile rail and trolleys are attached to the yacht’s exterior, which allows personnel to move alongside the boat with their hands free. A choice of two material finishes ensures the system has minimal impact on the yacht’s aesthetics after installation.
